Oshtemo 36 pack

After dropping the boy off at the train station, I headed over to Oshtemo Township Park for a couple solo rounds. I was a little worried when I showed up, as there were a TON of cars there, thinking that perhaps a tournament was going on, but after talking to a few locals, I found out that it was just busy. Lots of big slow groups, and, hard to say whether being allowed to 'play through' was all that helpful (and many of the larger groups did), but then I'd find myself waiting again at the next hole for the next big or slow group.

This was my second visit to this park, and the first time that I've played all 18 holes. I stuck to the rec tees today, and they were plenty challenging, as this course sports lots of trees and tight fairways. Not quite as difficult as I remembered it from two years ago, but I had plenty of crappy holes, especially on the first go-round. I shot a 71 on the first 18, just one shy of par 4, and, since I seemed to be finally getting warmed up on the last four holes (4 pars in a row), I decided to give it another go to see if I couldn't improve my score just a bit. Not much better on the front 9, but by the final tally, and two birdies later, I managed to shave 5 strokes off my first score.
